With Spring in full swing, those blooms in your yard need tending to! We’ve got a useful tip to help you enrich your soil without a trip to GardenWorks. Can’t get rid of the persistent static that makes every piece of clothing cling to your body? We’ve got a simple solution for that as well! Fresh out of shaving lotion? Soap isn’t the only emergency alternative! For the details on these household solutions, read on! Not All News is Bad Recycling isn’t the only environmentally friendly option once you’re done with your daily paper. Here’s another Green solution that makes use of this ubiquitous household item: Start putting newspaper around your outdoor plants to work the nutrients into your soil. Nutrients? Yep, like the iron that comes from the ink, a mineral that is essential for the healthy growth of any plant. Wet the sheets and layer them around your plants, overlapping with mulch. And forget about those pesky weeds. Weeds will get through some gardening plastic but they will not get through wet newspapers. Static Solution Sick of your skirt clinging to you? Can’t rid the static that makes your slacks cling to your pantyhose? Well, think about what you do when you can’t seem to stop zapping all your co-workers – you touch something made of metal to de-charge yourself. Same principle applies here: Pin a small safety pin to the seam of your slip and you will not have a clingy skirt or dress. That’s it! This works just as well with slacks that cling when wearing pantyhose. Place a pin in the seam of your pants and the static is gone. Now the only thing electric that people will notice is your personality! Girls Gotta Shave The cost of shaving lotion can really add up, especially if you shave every day. But since not shaving as often is likely out of the question, here’s a penny pinching solution worth considering: Use your hair conditioner to shave your legs instead! It’s a lot cheaper than shaving cream and leaves your legs really smooth. It’s also a great way to use up the conditioner you bought but didn’t like when you tried it in your hair.
