Image is everything. No matter what people tell you, what you wear, what you say, how you say it…it is all processed and critiqued upon whether you like it or not. There’s only one chance to make a good first impression and that first meeting is of utmost importance.

What we’re tackling today is how to meet and greet like a professional in a business setting. I don’t know about you, but I’d say I only encounter a good assertive handshake maybe one out of every ten times. It astonishes me how many people don’t know how to do this properly, which is why image consultant Kimberly Law is lending us a hand and teaching us how to make that first impact count. Kimberly Law, founder of Personal Impact Image Consulting, has over 20 years of notable experience in personal branding and professional marketing, so image consulting became a natural progression in her career. Her focus is working with individuals, businesses, education and not-for-profit sectors in all areas related to personal appearance and professional presence.

As a speaker, consultant and coach, Kimberly is known for her honest approach while presenting sometimes sensitive topics in a friendly, upbeat, and non-threatening manner. She takes pride in showing clients how to cultivate themselves to reach new personal and professional success.

Believing there is no second chance to make a good first impression, Kimberly helps clients move beyond personal limitations by identifying and utilizing their hidden assets, strengthening their personal knowledge and polishing their social and professional skills. Kimberly’s credentials include receiving an Honours Certificate in Marketing Public Relations; Diplomas in Professional Make-up Artistry and Modeling; Certification in Colour Analysis, Body Proportion Analysis, and Wardrobe Planning; Licensed Esthetician; Level 1 and 2 of the Vancouver School Board Instructor Training Program and ongoing professional development through the Association of Image Consultants International.

Professional pursuits have included a variety of positions from challenging retail cosmetics sales to a lucrative real estate career. Kimberly also includes in her portfolio of successes working with Lancôme Canada as Business Development Coordinator and Make-up Artist; New Image Modeling & Acting School as Community Relations Coordinator; and Instructor with Blanche MacDonald Career College.

Kimberly has demonstrated her expertise on Citytv News and Breakfast Television Vancouver, Global Television Noon and Weekend News Vancouver, VTV Breakfast, and has been interviewed on CKWX News 1130 as an image expert. Her achievements have been written about in publications such as The National Post and she has been quoted in the Vancouver Province, Forum Magazine, Investment Executive and 24 Hours. She is the first in Western Canada to receive international recognition as a Certified Image Professional (CIP) through the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI).
